Bookinkere Channakeshavaiah Subba Rao (December 8, 1923 – August 9th, 2017) was an Indian organic and industrial chemist.
Academic life and career
[edit]He received his B.Sc and M.Sc from Mysore university in 1944 and 1946 respectively. He then went on to complete his Ph.D. at Purdue University in 1955 and spent the next 2 years working as a post-doc student under Herbert C. Brown.[1]
In 1957 he returned to India where he worked for several chemical companies including the National Chemical Laboratory and Hindustan Unilever until his retirement.[2]
Subba Rao was elected as a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences in 1975.[3]
