Scope of these categories

[edit]

@Favre1fan93: you appear to be interpreting "Marvel Comics" as meaning only the medium of comics, not any other media owned by Marvel.[1] I believe this is incorrect.

The category in question, Marvel Comics superhero teams, states its scope as "Superhero teams created or owned by Marvel Comics."

Category:Marvel Entertainment does not have any separate category structure for teams that were not in the comics. As I understand it, Category:Marvel Comics characters is intended to encompass Marvel characters/teams etc in any Marvel media. – Fayenatic London 21:35, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Fayenatic london: Category:Marvel Cinematic Universe characters exists for all relevant MCU characters and teams. The Defenders (miniseries) is about the television miniseries, not about the team, so any sort of "character/superhero team" cats is inappropriate regardless. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:30, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, Category:Marvel Comics superhero teams is currently only categorized for comic-related teams, which is appropriate to its scope. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:31, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"only... comic-related" – how do you reach that conclusion? – Fayenatic London 16:46, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just look at all the articles currently in the category, and the sub categories. All are comic-based. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:50, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
When you said "currently only categorized for" I thought you were referring to the parent categories, not the contents.
Oh well. Defenders (comics) is in the teams category, and once people get to that page there are a couple of suitably prominent links to the miniseries page. – Fayenatic London 20:52, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
