I don't believe this category should be in Category:Eggs. They aren't eggs, and not all of them are egg shaped. Gareth E Kegg (talk) 18:16, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I went to "Category: Eggs" I would expect to find information about omelettes, scrambled eggs, Easter eggs, roe, and Fabergé eggs. Badagnani (talk) 18:23, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why should you expect the last one if they aren't eggs? Gareth E Kegg (talk) 18:26, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
They're essentially modeled on Easter eggs, look like eggs, and are called eggs in their name. Category:Teddy bears, for example, is under Category:Bears, even though a teddy bear is not an actual living bear. Badagnani (talk) 18:27, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, let it be :) Gareth E Kegg (talk) 18:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As closer examination shows that the category "Eggs" states that it is about eggs as food, I think Easter egg, Pysanka (Ukrainian), and Fabergé eggs could possibly go under a new category "Decorative eggs" or something similar. However, it still wouldn't be logical to have that subcat under "Eggs" if that cat is only for eggs as food. As of now, I support modifying the "Eggs" category description to accommodate the decorative eggs and keep it a "common sense" solution that takes into account new users who would simply be coming here looking for all kinds of eggs (and egg dishes) in a category called "Eggs."
