I think "ethnographic village" may be an inappropriate literal translation. I have never heard it before and it gets only a few google hits - many of them on sites from non-English speaking countries, whose webmasters may have made the same mistake. Open-air museum, which gets nearly a thousand times as many google hits, might be more appropriate. Greg Grahame 14:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your attention. I think ethnographic village is more specific form of an open air museum, and the term is quite popular in Lithuania (Lithuanian - "Etnografinis kaimas") [1] and it is used to denote specific regional villages. There are several dozens of those villages, and i think this category can be easily populated. --Lokyz 16:17, 20 May 2007 (UTC) P.S. Yes, this is something different, and not to be confused with an open-air museum. I think the concept is rather specific for Lithuania, so there may be no obvious equivalent term in common English. These are not museum villages - these are normal villages, with people living there, they only retain their historic set-up, architecture etc. --Lysytalk 20:26, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
